Tottenham Hotspur v Everton

Spurs have announced the team news for tomorrow’s Premier League match against Everton at White Hart Lane. There’s no mention of Gareth, so fingers crossed he’s fully fit and raring to go.

It’s reported that Everton’s regular right-back Tony Hibbert is an injury worry with a groin problem. Seamus Coleman, who can also play at right-back is also struggling with a groin injury. Phil Neville, who plays mainly in midfield these days, can play at right-back, and did so when Everton last visited Spurs in October 2010. The score that day ended 1-1 with the Welshman apparently kept quiet.

On Neville’s performance that day, his team-mate Sylvain Distin told his club’s official website: “I don’t understand how he did it because he’s so slow! It’s just mad. I still don’t get it. Maybe they must be friends or something like that! No, he did a great job and we’re going to have to do it again. And maybe they’ve got more individual quality throughout the team now, so it’s not only stopping Gareth Bale, it’s the other players as well.”

No doubt Everton are always a tough side to play against, and with their goalscoring goalkeeper, Everton are always a side to be wary of.
