Spurs continued their fine run by beating Everton 2-0 at White Hart Lane. The goals came from winger Aaron Lennon and left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto – the latter goal being a superb strike from outside the area.
Gareth Bale certainly wasn’t ‘kept quiet’ by Everton right-back Phil Neville, the Welshman was a constant threat with crosses and shots – from out wide on the left and, also more commonly of late, the inside left. Gareth had a number of chances to score, one which was deflected and saved by Everton ‘keeper Tom Howard. There was another chance where he blasted his shot over the bar, which I’m sure he’ll be disappointed with.
Spurs are now joint second with Manchester United on 45 points in the Premier League table, and only three points behind league leaders Manchester City.
