Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur

Not long to go before Tottenham Hotspur take on Premier League leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, or Eastlands to some.

Spurs don’t have any new injury worries, Gallas and Sandro are still out injured, Ledley King could return. One player will be missing out though, and that is Emmanuel Adebayor, who is at Spurs on loan from City.

City are missing Vincent Kompany through suspension, Yaya Toure is also missing as he’s at the African Cup of Nations. City have some top quality players though to fill in, and also have Micah Richards and Mario Balotelli back.

I think Adebayor’s absence will be a huge miss for Spurs and could be a massive factor in the game. I know the striker doesn’t score too much, but he holds up the ball and links up with his team-mates so well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Jermain Defoe, who is likely to be playing upfront on his own, but it isn’t his game, mainly due to his stature, he’s quick though, and that’s where I think Spurs can profit today. So let’s hope Spurs and of course Gareth Bale can put in a good performance and get a vital result today.
