After a good 4-0 win over Derby County, all the talk should be about the game, instead, we’ve got rumours and reports surrounding the future of manager Martin Jol.
At the moment there’s nothing official, therefore the Dutchman hasn’t been sacked and is still manager at Spurs, however, for how much longer?
Jol himself has already said: “I thought there were whispers last year – and there are whispers at any club all the time.
“I don’t know if I’m being undermined. I don’t think so but you never know.”
I would be very disappointed if he was to be sacked after just three games. However, if the club have good reason, then obviously I’d more than likely understand.
Who would replace Jol? Seems Seville manager Juande Ramos is favourite, although he has denied that he’s already held talks with a Spurs ‘representative’.
Ramos said: “I totally deny that I met with any Tottenham representative. Is there any evidence that demonstrates the contrary?
“It’s totally false. I was with one friend in two hotels and I’m only shown leaving and in my car.
“I didn’t speak to anyone about Tottenham or any other team.
“It’s true I was in the hotel as I went to see a friend who has nothing to do with football and who was in Seville on a visit. But there was no meeting about Tottenham.”
Jurgen Klinsmann, who impressed whilst German national coach, has been linked to a return to White Hart Lane too.
Only time will tell if Martin Jol will be leaving, but after seeing him after Saturday’s win in post match interviews, he certainly didn’t seem his old self.
