Despite the absence of Spurs’ big name players, like Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Ledley King, etc, the North London club still put out a strong side with the likes of Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Michael Dawson. Cheltenham Town did put up a good fight, however, Spurs were too strong and managed to win comfortably with goals from Defoe, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Giovani Dos Santos.
