We’ve played eight games in the Premiership and we’re in the relegation zone, yet Martin Jol is still manager of Spurs, why?

Under Jol in the Premiership, we’ve won once, drawn three and lost four times. Sure one win and we could be mid-table, but I don’t see us getting a win at Liverpool, especially since we’ve not won at Anfield in the league since a Teddy Sheringham double in 1993.

The scenes following Younes Kaboul’s equaliser against Aston Villa shouldn’t put off the inevitable neither. They were great scenes, but we did the impossible and involved Aston Villa in an ‘exciting game’ – who would have thought!

The mid-week match at Anorthosis Famagusta was strenuous to watch – seeing Premiership players making the Cypriot team look half-decent – it was hard to take.

What has happened to Darren Bent? We paid an initial £15.5m for the former Charlton striker, yet he seems lost. Jermain Defoe doesn’t look like he could hit a barn door either. Thankfully Robbie Keane’s introduction saved the day against Anorthosis, otherwise it would have been an embarassing defeat!

So when will Chairman Daniel Levy bite the bullet? Is he waiting for a ‘good time’? Or perhaps is he waiting and hoping that someone will take Jol off his hands and save him paying compensation? Whichever, it’s time for a change. It’s a pity Jol hasn’t done the honourable thing and stepped down, but let’s face it, £4m says he won’t.
