A question hot on the lips of all those interested in world football right now is whether Harry Kane will stay at Spurs for another season, or whether he will move on to another club in pursuit of chasing silverware. While there have been strong talks linking Kane to a move to the blue side of Manchester, there is plenty that both City and Tottenham would need to iron out if a deal was to come to fruition.

Harry Kane is Tottenham through and through. For many, Kane embodies Tottenham. Hard working, underrated, and capable of dismantling world football’s most elite teams. Not too long ago Spurs reached the Champions League final, and have regularly put the likes of City, Chelsea and Liverpool under huge amounts of pressure, now and again even securing three points from these Great British super powers.

While this may be the case, and while Tottenham are currently top of the pile in the Premier League, one area Spurs have come up short in is with the regular topping up of their trophy cabinet. It’s the butt end of many jokes, but unfortunately it’s a cold and hard truth, that makes many believe that players of the calibre of Kane may want to branch out and move to clubs that have fared better in the silverware department.

Kane has won plenty of individual honours with Tottenham. He has won the golden boot three times, with only Thiery Henry winning the award more times than him (with four). He won playmaker of the season, PFA’s young player of the season, FIFA world Cup Golden boot, and more. As far as established number 9s go, there aren’t too many that have earned more awards than Kane.

Yet Tottenham’s famed and feared number 10 is yet to win any major titles with the club that built him into what he is today, and this is looking likely to remain the same. Currently, bookmakers everywhere, including far away places like football betting sites in South Africa have given Tottenham long odds of attaining a much anticipated Premier League title, despite being comfortably positioned at top spot after matchweek 3.

Kane and Tottenham have an almost fairytale-like story. When Kane was a youngster, he tried out at North London’s other football establishment, Arsenal, however he was turned away as coaches then referred to him as being a little too big.

So, the heartbroken Kane went to Tottenham, where he was accepted, and where he developed into one of the most influential players of the modern game. Kane is also so much more than just a goal scorer. His positioning, passing, his touch within the box all make him one of the more rounded goal scorers in the game today. His two premier league playmaker of the season awards will tell you all about it.

Yet still, Tottenham have not managed to show the resolve to go all the way in terms of winning some of the trophies that matter. They have come close, but are still waiting to end their drought of silverware. Many would believe that this is the only reason Kane would be urged to find a new club. Players of Kane’s calibre are ambitious, and with City watching the situation closely, it may just be a matter of time before Kane changes the white hue of London for the sky blue of Mancherster.

What this transfer window has shown however, is that while the rumour mill may churn out plenty of entertaining stories, anything can happen. Messi’s departure from Barcelona, Ronaldo’s almost imminent arrival at City (to be then hijacked by United) to name a few, the truth is that no one knows the future of Harry Kane. Spurs fans however are holding on to hope that their talisman will stay for one more season, and potentially reconsider his desire to move elsewhere.

A question hot on the lips of all those interested in world football right now is whether Harry Kane will stay at Spurs for another […]

[7

post-1841","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tottenham-hotspur
