The Premier League season may still be in its infancy stage, but the betting markets for the PFA Player of the Year are already hotting up. It would be no surprise to Spurs fans that a number of Jose Mourinho\u2019s men are already at the front of that particular market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

England captain Harry Kane is the heavy favourite at present, but could the 27-year-old become the first Spurs player to win the illustrious award since Gareth Bale in the 2010-11 season?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kane\u2019s Remarkable Run Of Form<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Harry Kane has started the season in excellent form with Spurs this season, and his link-up play with Heung Min-Son has already ensured that a possible title challenge could be on the cards for Tottenham in 2020-21. Of course, no trophies are handed out in December, but Spurs look to be a team that are building something special, and Kane\u2019s involvement on the pitch has spread far greater than what he does inside the opposing side\u2019s 18-yard box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The records have been tumbling for Kane this season, as he became the first player in Premier League history to assist the same teammate on four occasions when Spurs beat Southampton 5-2. That same performance also saw Kane become the first English player to record four assists in the same top-flight fixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The England captain was also pivotal, as he scored in Tottenham\u2019s 6-1 win at Old Trafford earlier in the season, which was the biggest away success that Spurs have ever achieved against Manchester United. His form hasn\u2019t shown any sign of slipping, as he recently scored in Tottenham\u2019s 2-0 win over Arsenal, which made him the outright leading scorer in the history of the North London derby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That excellent counter-attacking goal was also the 100th home goal that Kane has scored for Spurs, and also saw him score his 250th goal for club and country. Kane has added new layers to his game this season, as he has also demonstrated his excellent passing ability by contributing ten assists. Other Front-Runners For Prestigious Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of course, there is still a long way to go before the PFA Player of the Year is officially announced, which means that some of the other leading players could emerge as serious threats. Kane\u2019s Tottenham teammate Heung Min-Son is also among the contenders to win the award this season, as he has already scored eleven goals this season. The 28-year-old could become the first South Korean winner of the award if he achieves the success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin De Bruyne is regarded as one of the best players in the Premier League, and he will be looking to become only the third player to win the famous award in successive seasons. Mohamed Salah won the award back in 2017-18, and his form has also seen him emerge as a leading contender.
