Then the threat increased and Serie\nA, Japan\u2019s J. League and UEFA suspended their tournaments entirely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Liga, the Premier League, Bundesliga and\nLigue One soon followed suit. Women\u2019s Super League, the Major League Soccer and\nmost other football leagues around the world cancelled the games shortly\nafterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With football games postponed in almost all\ncontinents, bookmakers went into panic mode. The beautiful game is one of the\nprimary income sources for many betting companies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But with all major leagues cancelled, these\nare the only football games you can bet on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Belarus Premier League<\/li><li>The Australian A-League<\/li><li>Second-tier football leagues in\nMexico<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few more football leagues you\ncan bet on presently. So, had it delayed,\nmore players, club officials and fans would have been affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the NBA\u2019s suspension, all other\nbasketball tournaments in the US have been cancelled. That includes the\nG-League and NCAA college games. Beyond the US, all European, Asian and African\nleagues have also gone on an indefinite hiatus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Motorsports <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the world\u2019s biggest motorsports\nleagues, Formula One and NASCAR, are on a hiatus. Formula One suspended races\nimmediately Coronavirus became a huge threat in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NASCAR took a while to cancel its races. In\nfact, it originally planned to organize races without fans. But then it\nsuspended its calendar and introduced a new alternative: its top drivers\ncompeting in virtual NASCAR games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The virtual games will use race simulation\ndevices and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports. Surprisingly, some bookmakers\nmight soon allow you to bet on the virtual tournaments. What&#8217;s more,\nthere are plenty of table tennis games taking place in Eastern Europe\ncountries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Olympics and Marathons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After weeks of insisting this year\u2019s Olympic\nGames would go on as scheduled, Japan finally suspended the tournament on March\n24. The minister in charge of organizing the event said the move was made to\nprotect people\u2019s health. The Olympics will now take place in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to marathons, organizers are\ntaking no chances. All marathons in cities and countries affected by\nCoronavirus have been postponed. If you had purchased tickets to these events,\nyou\u2019ll probably get a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many bookmakers are also refunding people\nwho had bet on events that have been cancelled due to Coronavirus. However,\nthey are also allowing bettors to wager on events that will happen later in the\nyear, probably after the pandemic is over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Baseball and Hockey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to football and tennis, not all baseball\nand hockey games have been cancelled. North America\u2019s\nNational Hockey League has been cancelled. However, the Russian league is still\ntaking place. On the flip side, boxing isn&#8217;t so much affected by\nCOVID-19. All anticipated bouts, including Anthony Joshua&#8217;s match against\nKubrat Pulev, are scheduled to go on with or without fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Esports and other Betting Markets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esports are some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/video-games\/esports\/2020\/03\/17\/esports-streamers-coronavirus-sports-canceled\/\">most\npopular games<\/a> on betting websites presently. That\u2019s because they take place\nonline and hence not many games have been suspended due to Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from eSports, other markets not\naffected by COVID-19 cancellations are politics, weather conditions, financial\nmarkets, and casino games. That means you can still predict who will win the\nupcoming US election.
