A Champions League final, fourth place in the Premier League and absolutely no money whatsoever spent last season.

Imaging what manager Mauricio Pochettino could have achieved
with some money?

Well, things could be about to change as according to an
interview with TV3 in Catalonia, Poch has made it clear that is essential his
Spurs side is reinforced this summer.

“It is imperative that
this year we strengthen the team” the Spurs boss was quoted as saying and
it is clear for all to see that after two barren windows, now is the time to
push on.

Lucas Moura was the last permanent signing Tottenham made and
that was all the way back on the 31st January 2018 and another
transfer window with no signings is unthinkable.

Largely because it would make up Mauricio Pochettino’s decision
on his long-term future at the club.

After transforming Spurs into European heavyweights, the
47-year-old Argentine has understandably been a manager in demand and had twice
come close to ditching North London for Madrid.

However, the measure of the man has shone through and true
to his word, he has stuck around to continuing building his ‘project’.

But surely the man has limits.

Having seen the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City splash
the cash last season and go on to great success, Tottenham’s lack of any
activity must be particularly galling.

Yes, there is the new stadium the club have built which
needs to be financed (and what a Stadium it is) but few could have steadied the
ship to the level Pochettino has and now the man deserves his managerial reward
in the way of a blank cheque.

Kieran Trippier and Cristian Eriksen are both reportedly
close to the exit door, so reinforcements are a must but who?

Barcelona winger Malcom, Jack Clarke from Leeds and Lyon
midfielder Tanguy Ndombele are all rumoured to be on their way to Tottenham
this summer.

The time is now for Daniel Levy to get his cheque book out
otherwise it could prove to be not just a player exodus this summer, but a
managerial one.

A Champions League final, fourth place in the Premier League and absolutely no money whatsoever spent last season.
