Much was made of Tottenham’s lack of signings in the summer.

Rivals were laughing whilst even Spurs fans themselves were
lamenting their sides inability to splash the cash.

However, Daniel Levy has been having the last laugh as
Mauricio Pochettino has guided his Lilywhites side to their best ever start to
a Premier League campaign and a title race.

Few punters who like to bet on
Spurs would have thought no signings could propel the club to even greater
heights but as 2019 begins, Tottenham find themselves six points off top spot.

So, are Tottenham going unlock the wallet this winter and go
for glory? Or will they stay
put and keep faith in what they already have?

Potential signings

Sander Berge – Genk

20-year-old midfielder Sander Berge is the subject of
intense speculation from a host of Serie A clubs including AC Milan,
Florentina, and Roma.

The Norwegian international, has netted twice and assisted
four times for Genk this season in all competitions has earned Berge 12 caps in
his short career.

It is believed that Genk want at least £25 million for the youngster
and with the need for a new central midfielder, Berge may prove a valuable long-term
asset.

Jarrod Bowen – Hull City

Tigers forward Jarrod Bowen is a talented winger/forward and
has been among the goals for Hull this season netting eleven times with a trio
of assists.

This has alerted the likes of Leeds United, Everton and
Daniel Levy at Spurs.

Hull value the 22-year-old at around £10 million but it is
believed about £6.5 million may be enough to drag him away from Humberside
despite some rumours claiming he could cost upwards of £20 million.

With rising stadium costs, Bowen could prove to be the more cost-effective
alternative but still a shrewd piece of business.

Franck Kessie – AC Milan/Atalanta

Another midfielder Spurs reportedly have an eye on is AC
Milan’s powerful Franck Kessie.

The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international is in a complicated
situation as he is actually on a two-year loan from Atalanta to AC Milan with
the Milan club obligated to buy the Ivorian come the end of the season.

However, if the Rossoneri fail to make the Champions League
then it appears the transfer fee may be a sticking point as AC are no longer
the force they once were.

Around 40 Million Euros is deemed enough to capture Kessie
which is something of a bargain, but Spurs may have to wait until the summer to
get this one over the line.

Much was made of Tottenham’s lack of signings in the summer.
