After netting his 26th<\/sup> league goal of the campaign against Brighton on Tuesday night, Harry Kane finds himself just four goals behind Liverpool\u2019s Mohammed Salah in the race for this season’s Golden Boot.<\/p>\n

If he does manage to claw back the deficit with just four games to go, it will be Kane\u2019s third Golden Boot and undoubtedly a remarkable achievement.<\/p>\n

However, one cannot help but sense that the remainder of the season has an air of the Harry Kane show as opposed to what is best for the team.<\/p>\n

This image first came to light when his sides second goal against Stoke went before a panel in order to get the goal credited to Kane as opposed to his team-mate Christian Eriksen who was much more deserving of the goal.<\/p>\n

A social media backlash soon followed after Kane was awarded the goal even though the ball appeared to not touch the Englishman.<\/p>\n

His rival Mohammed Salah even tweeted his surprise at the panel\u2019s decision and something of a joke has been made ever since.<\/p>\n

Kane has come out to press in the last day or so to say that he is \u2018not bothered\u2019 by the publicity and criticism the decision received by saying “It’s just part of the game in this day and age\u201d<\/em> whilst remaining coy about his chances of winning the Golden Boot for a third straight season.<\/p>\n

However, against Brighton on Tuesday night, the side looked a little below par and like they had orders to get the ball to Kane as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n

A 1-1 draw ensued and although that may be considered a reasonable result away from home, it still left many a little disappointed with the side appearing to focus more on ensuring Harry is the man to score as opposed to creating better opportunities that will ensure the side get the job done.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are not far behind with a top-four spot not in the bag just yet and until it is, Tottenham must come first and not Harry Kane.<\/p>\n

The Englishman is lucky to have such generous team-mates who are happy to play the Kane game but if results suffer as a result of it, don\u2019t expect the fans to be quite so forgiving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
