Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is clearly mellowing in his old age as he lavished praise on Tottenham pair Harry Kane and Dele Alli.<\/p>\n
In an interview with beIN SPORTS, long time Arsenal boss and arch Tottenham rival Arsene Wenger credited the English duo as the nations best hope of guiding the Three Lions to World Cup glory this summer.<\/p>\n
The 68-year-old told beIN SPORTS:<\/p>\n
“England (could go all the way) because they have a good young generation, they are very efficient with Harry Kane and Dele Alli and all these players that score many goals now at international level.”<\/em><\/p>\n High praise indeed but it is hardly surprising considering the season Harry Kane, in particular, is having.<\/p>\n 35 goals in 39 outings has been the hitman\u2019s return despite his annual August issues and that has earnt praise from many corners around the world.<\/p>\n Alli himself may have been accused of some questionable performances in the earlier part of the season but 16 assists in his 42 appearances coupled with ten goals has seen the 21-year-old return to his devastating form at just the right time for England.<\/p>\n However, before the players embark on their Russian adventure, there is the small matter of Chelsea on Easter Sunday in the Premier League.<\/p>\n The game is vital for the race for a top-four spot with Chelsea sat in fifth five points behind Spurs in fourth.<\/p>\n However, if form is anything to go by, then the Lilywhites will head to Stamford Bridge as favourites in a tie that could see Tottenham all but cement Champions League qualification for next season.<\/p>\n One player, in particular, is up for the game. Spurs January acquisition Lucas Moura has been speaking to the club website ahead of the London derby and had this to say about his sides chances:<\/p>\n \u201cThis year we are very good \u2013 we\u2019ve had great games against Manchester United, Arsenal and even against Juventus over the two matches, so I\u2019m sure we can produce a great game against Chelsea also because I think we are very, very talented.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n He also went on to add that this was the kind of game he had been \u2018waiting for\u2019 <\/em>since swapping Paris for North London in January.<\/p>\n With just eight games to go, it is advantage Spurs in the race for the top four and with an FA Cup semi-final against a misfiring Manchester United, there is still plenty to play for in what could be our best season in years.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
