Watford 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur managed to somehow pull off a 1-0 win at Watford and make it into the next round of the FA Cup, this was without Gareth Bale, who was out with a thigh injury.

On the winger’s injury, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp told The Sun newspaper: “He picked it up in training two days before the match. He felt it a bit but it’s not too bad.”

The North London club could certainly have done with the width and pace of the Welshman, they did bring on Aaron Lennon in the second half, which did improve a rather sloppy performance by the Premier League club.

Spurs were very lucky to win, with the home side having lots of chances, but the away side got the all important goal from a long range effort from Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart.
