Tottenham’s odds for next season

Who doesn’t love a little bit of crystal ball gazing?

It may be true that the 2019/20 season is perhaps better forgotten for Tottenham fans but surely things will only get better for next season with Jose Mourinho handed another transfer window to weave some magic.

However, the book makers believe Spurs will make little to no progress with the club instilled at 66/1 with Paddy Power to claim their first Premier League title.

Understandably, that has them behind the likes of current favourites Manchester City, current champions Liverpool, and Manchester United, and Chelsea.

However, perhaps more galling is that the Lilywhites are longer odds than Arsenal despite Tottenham finishing above Arsenal for the fourth year running.

The Gunners are priced at 50/1 despite finishing the season two places below Tottenham and with the very real threat of losing star man Aubameyang.

That said, Tottenham’s top four prospects look much better with Paddy Power pricing the Lilywhites at 3/1 to make it to the Champions League.

That puts them fifth favourites behind Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea. Strangely, despite being shorter odds for the title, Arsenal are longer odds than Tottenham to make it into the top four at 5/1 – go figure that one out!

Remarkably, newly promoted Leeds United are as short as 200/1 to win their first topflight title since 1992 whilst Wolves, Leicester and Everton can all be picked up at 100/1.

With Mourinho in charge, anything can happen at Tottenham although one cannot deny that he has improved the sides points per game ratio with the club in fourth place if the table started when the Portuguese maestro took over.

Whatever happens next season one thing is assured, plenty of nails bitten, frustration, and some very special moments.

Roll on the Premier League 2020/21.
