Newcastle United are the visitors to White Hart Lane later this afternoon, and are having a very good season, currently in fifth place in the Premier League after beating Aston Villa 2-1 at home.
Tottenham Hotspur though are also doing pretty well this season and are third following their 0-0 draw at Liverpool.
Spurs have been boosted with the return of winger Aaron Lennon and striker Jermain Defoe from injury. Sadly there’s no Rafael van der Vaart or William Gallas, also Younes Kaboul and Sandro are doubts.
Gareth Bale is expected to be fit and raring to go for today’s game, something that Newcastle’s James Perch is well aware of. He said: “We know what we are going to get when we go down there. He’s quick, he’s strong, he can finish, he can shoot from outside the box, he can cross – he is the all-round player.
“Danny Simpson will have a job marking him. But the last few times he has played against Gareth Bale, he has done really well – outstandingly, in fact – to mark him.”
