Gareth Bale and his Spurs team-mates take on Chelsea at Wembley tomorrow in an FA Cup semi-final.
Spurs have huge defensive problems having just two centre-halves available following injuries to Ledley King and Younes Kaboul. Scott Parker returns though after missing the 2-1 loss against Norwich City, however, Niko Kranjcar is now out.
Spurs played Chelsea a few weeks ago at Stamford Bridge and deserved more than a goalless draw.
Gareth Bale though is confident of getting to the final. He told Spurs TV: “Obviously we’ve got difficult opposition in Chelsea. They’re a great side, have done really well in the Champions League and it won’t be easy, but I think if we are on our game on the day, then we can reach the final because I feel we have the better team.
“We played very well at Stamford Bridge recently, it ended goalless but we had the better chances on the day and we probably should have won the game.
“That will give us plenty of confidence going into this match.”
Gareth played in the 2-0 extra-time FA Cup semi-final defeat to Portsmouth two-years ago and has got his mind set on making it to the final this time around.
He said: “We let ourselves down against Portsmouth two years ago, we didn’t play well and that was a tough defeat to take, but we’ve got another chance to reach the FA Cup final and we’re determined not to let it slip by this time.”
Liverpool have this afternoon beaten Everton 2-1 and will now take on the winner of the Spurs-Chelsea game in the final.
