Tottenham Hotspur keep rolling on with their impressive and entertaining football.
Newcastle United were the visitors to White Hart Lane and despite good form of late, they were pretty much trounced.
The star of the game was Emmanuel Adebayor, who got four assists and a goal.
Gareth Bale was effective and played a part in the opening goal, that came in the fourth minute. Adebayor played a one-two with with the Welshman, before the striker crossed across goal for left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto to put the ball into an empty net.
Adebayor made the second and third goal, both for Louis Saha to get his first goals for Spurs.
Bale was indirectly involved in the fourth goal in the 34th minutes, when his run made space for Adebayor to collect a Saha pass just outside the penalty area. Adebayor’s shot was saved, but Niko Kranjcar put Spurs 4-0 up.
Gareth was involved in the fifth and final goal, when his pass out wide left found Assou-Ekotto, who crossed for Saha to head down for Adebayor to score. Goal of the night for me.
With Spurs 5-0 up and coasting, Gareth’s work for the night was over, as he was subbed for Aaron Lennon in the 67 minute.
Newcastle had few chances throughout the match, and when they did, failed to take them, Spurs as the scoreline suggests, were very dominant and very deserving of victory.
