Spurs to get back on track with favorable festive fixture list

Festive fixture list for tottenham at Spursforlife

Sitting seventh in the table and twenty-one points behind the league leaders is not what most Tottenham fans would have expected after finishing runners-up last season just seven behind eventual champions Chelsea.

Those are the facts, but there has been at least one shining light thanks to the superb Champions League campaign so far saving some of the blushes.

Having picked up just eight points from a possible eighteen in recent weeks has seen Spurs rivals take advantage, but the signs are this is about to stop.

The Christmas period is well-known for being a packed schedule, but for once it should play into Tottenham’s favour.

From now until the middle of January, Spurs only face one side in the top 10 and that is a crunch away game against high-flying Burnley.

Then its 12th place Southampton at Wembley followed by a trip to South Wales to face rock bottom Swansea before a London derby with West Ham on the 4th January.

These four matches are all more than winnable games which could transform Tottenham’s season especially as the need to finish in the top four once more becomes paramount.

When compared to those around us, you can see why the fixture list has been so kind. In the same period, Arsenal have to face both Liverpool and Chelsea which could see us comfortably leap-frog the Gunners in the league standings.

As we all know, there are no guarantees in football but these games for Spurs highlight a real opportunity to turn seventh into fourth in one fell swoop.

Just three points separates us in seventh and Liverpool in fourth with Burnley somehow still in the mix.

Maximum points (or as close to as possible) changes the landscape somewhat and all of a sudden, thanks to the Premier League super computer, Tottenham’s season could be about to lift off.
