Things just aren’t going for Tottenham Hotspur at the moment, this game was always going to be tough, but for Queens Park Rangers to take three points was very harsh on Spurs.
QPR hardly had any shots on goal throughout the match but in the 23rd minute they took a free-kick that really shouldn’t have hit the back of the ‘net. It was such a tame shot from Adel Taarabt that Spurs’ ‘keeper Brad Friedel really should have saved it.
Spurs had a ridiculous amount of possession but failed to take chances when presented.
Gareth Bale, who was making his 200th career appearance, had a really good chance with a header in the 20th minute, unfortunately the effort on goal went straight to QPR ‘keeper Paddy Kenny.
Jermain Defoe had a few shots on goal but hitting the target is something he failed to do.
The goalscorer Taarabt was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 78th minute when he kicked the ball away, but the home side shouldn’t have worried as Spurs were just never going to score.
So Spurs lost another game and are now fifth after Newcastle United comfortably beat Stoke City 3-0 at home.
Next up for Spurs is Blackburn Rovers at White Hart Lane on Sunday, 4pm kick off.
