Former Arsenal and England international right-back, Lee Dixon, has revealed how tough it is for players to defend against Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale.
The 22-year-old Welshman has already shown up big name defenders, Inter Milan’s Maicon being a fine example.
Dixon told the Daily Star: “On his day he is unplayable. He has such a strong engine and gives every full-back problems.
“Do you defend tight on him or drop off? I have seen him destroy a couple of full-backs in the past couple of years.
“He is tricky and has pace, which makes him very difficult to mark.”
He added: “These days you can’t tackle anyone. Try playing against Bale without tackling – it’s not going to happen.”
