Can Spurs Maintain Their Title Challenge in the Women’s Super League?

It has been an excellent two years for the Tottenham Hotspur Women. They achieved success in their first full season as a team by finishing second behind Manchester United. That promotion ensured that they are now playing in the Super League.

They will be faced with a stiff assignment this season if they want to compete with the best. Manchester City are the reigning champions, but it would seem that they may be distracted by the Champions League this campaign.

Chelsea have taken over the lead and are unbeaten in their first five games of the season, but Spurs could yet mount a title challenge.

They are just four points away from the Blues and have shown solid form to date. Spurs have only been beaten twice in their opening five games this season. These defeats have come against Manchester United, and Chelsea on the opening day.

The women will be excited to showcase their best performance of the season on the coming weekend as for the first time ever, the Spurs women will be playing at the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Arsenal.

A win there would certainly give the impression that they can do something special this season.
