Tonight Spurs travel to Blackpool, question is, will it be a ‘pleasure’ of will be a, erm, ‘beach’.
Spurs haven’t visited Bloomfield Road since an FA Cup tie in January 1991. We were 1-0 winners that day thanks to a Paul Stewart goal.
Blackpool have done great since being promoted to the Premiership last season, they play good attractive attacking football, however, of late they’ve lost 5 out of their last 6 games. Spurs on the other hand have won their last four.
There’ll be no Rafael van der Vaart for us tonight, neither Jonathan Woodgate or Vedran Corluka. Sadly still no Gareth Bale too. Jermaine Jenas returns after suspension.
As for the line-up, it makes you wonder if Harry Redknapp will start Luka Modric, perhaps instead of Wilson Palacios, who has been struggling with injury of late. I expect we’ll go 4-4-2 with Defoe upfront with Crouch or Pavlyuchenko. In defence we’re lacking a right-back, so if Alan Hutton is unavailable, I’d guess Sebastien Bassong will be drafted in.
It should be an entertaining game, Blackpool attack and yet also concede, so there should plenty of goals. I’m hoping Spurs will continue their fine form and get a win.
