According to The Times, Dimitar Berbatov is worried Manchester United will move for Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar instead of himself.
This comes after United manager Sir Alex Ferguson contradicted himself by now saying he’s looking to sign another striker.
Yesterday he said he was happy to continue with his current strike force.
The Scot told The Sun: “We are working on bringing in another top striker.
“Having added strength up front is a situation I would really enjoy.
“Ideally, I like to operate with four experienced strikers, as we did when we won the Treble when we had Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Solskjaer.”
Meanwhile, Berbatov’s agent Emil Dantchev has said: “We’re entering a crucial period of negotiations,” so perhaps it’s crunch time for the Bulgarian?
